Koen Lampaert

Bio

Koen Lampaert received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Leuven, Belgium, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. From 1992 to 1996, he was a Research Assistant with the ESAT-MICAS Laboratory of the KUL.

He started his career in the semiconductor industry in 1996 and has held several positions of increasing responsibility at major semiconductor companies. Currently, he serves as Technical Director at Broadcom, responsible for optimizing high-speed embedded processor cores and developing power-efficient design methodologies. During his 17 years with Broadcom, he made contributions to numerous industry leading high-performance SOC designs in leading-edge technologies. He is widely recognized as an expert in high-performance design and design automation.

He has authored or co-authored two books and more than 30 papers in edited books, international journals, and conference proceedings. He holds several patents related to mixed-signal design automation. Dr. Lampaert regularly serves as a Member of the Program Committees for international conferences such as ICCAD, DAC. He was a co-recipient of the 1995 Best Paper Award from the John Wiley international journal, Circuit Theory and Applications.
